Our Lodge
Deep in the Canadian Rockies backcountry, Chatter Creek is made up of two adjoining lodges, one which houses our massive boot room / drying room and the other which houses our bar, lounge, dining room, stretch/yoga space, and massage facilities. The lodges are connected by a beautiful breezeway that opens onto the cat-skiing terrain. Whether you stay in Vertebrae Lodge or Solitude Lodge, you are guaranteed a warm and comfortable place after an epic day of powder skiing or snowboarding. Both lodges are built from handcrafted old growth local spruce logs and offer plenty of space to mingle in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Learn more about the construction and history of Chatter Creek here.
Chatter Creek guests stay in a well-appointed large double occupancy room with an adjoining en suite bathroom and two double beds. If you come as part of a group, you’ll know your roommate ahead of time, but if you come solo, our office will pair you with a like-minded co-occupant.Chatter Creek provides high-speed internet access for basic needs such as emailing, messaging and browsing the internet. A telephone is available to stay in touch with the folks at home as cell coverage is not available. We recommend that you download large files before you arrive. We also ask that you avoid video-conferencing or streaming (i.e.,Skype, FaceTime, YouTube).
An important aspect of any skiing and snowboarding holiday is the ability to dry all wet gear before the next day’s adventure. Chatter Creek uses a forced air drying system to gently dry clothes and boots without deforming custom liners. Each guest is assigned an individual locker to store and dry their outdoor gear.
Don’t forget to pickup some souvenirs from the gift shop, with premium quality gear from Arcteryx and XYZ, branded with Chatter Creek to take a little bit of this magic on your next mountain adventure.
Dine
Start your day with a fresh smoothie or pastries prepared by our in-house baker. Each day we serve up a hearty breakfast, and send you on your way with your selection of sandwiches and a variety of baked goods to fuel your ride. When you return to the lodge enjoy a warm après ski meal and wind down with a drink in the lounge. Our exquisitely prepared multiple course dinners may have you forget you’re in the middle of nowhere.
Guests with dietary requirements need not worry. Please let us know prior to your arrival and we will assure that we have your requirements looked after. Whether you are a diabetic, need a gluten or lactose-free diet or follow a kosher diet, we are pleased to accommodate your needs.
We have traveled the breadth of the Okanagan Valley, meeting winemakers and barrel sampling in order to bring to you wines from established producers, in addition to discovering new wineries of merit. Winemakers from the Naramata Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Falls, and the Similkameen are making wines worthy of international recognition.
We have also touched on our favorite growing areas of the Old World in order to offer a selection of French and Italian wine, featuring Brunello’s and Barolo’s in addition to gems from the Bordeaux and Pinot Noir from Burgundy. New World offerings like Barossa Valley Shiraz, Pinot Noir from Oregon State, and Malbec from Argentina round out our portfolio. Our white wines represent a broad range from an Alsatian Pinot Gris to a single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand along with California Chardonnay.
Expert bartenders are ready and waiting to whip up your choice of cocktails or pour you a crisp pint after your epic day on the mountain. Unwind each evening with a game of pool or foosball in the lounge.
Unwind
As you roll back into the lodge after an unforgettable day riding powder, you will be greeted with a hot meal and whatever you need to quench your thirst. There is plenty of time to relax and unwind before dinner service, and Chatter Creek’s large outdoor hot tub is a must-visit during your stay. Our brand new dry sauna is another essential stop on your apres-ski tour, if only so that your muscles are ready for tomorrow!
Enjoy a massage from our in-house massage therapists. There are three full-time professionals to look after your massage needs.
Massages are available for 1/2 hour or one-hour sessions. The cost is $80 per 1/2 hour and $140 per hour.
